About Me

Picture
Born and raised in the beautiful country that is New Zealand. I was always an active child. I think the word 'outdoors' is the average kiwis middle name. I always placed high in our schools 'mini Olympics' and athletic days. I absolutely loved physical activity, and still do. I never would have imagined that that passion I had as a kid would one day lead me here.

My husband and I met in 2006 when we were members of a Subaru Car Club. We both owned Subaru WRX STI's and were car enthusiasts. It only took a few online chats and then one beer to know that we were made for each other. Soppy, I know, but I love the guy!

Just before we got married, my husband got offered a job in America. We obviously couldn't turn down this wonderful opportunity. We pushed our wedding forward and 2 months later we landed on American soil. And so began our marriage.

I wanted to become a personal trainer when we first moved to America, but it wasn't the right time for me. We had a lot going on. About 1 and a half years after we moved, I started gaining weight... fast. I had gained 20 pounds when my doctor informed me I had Hypothyroidism. I was extremely annoyed that I had a 'condition'. I had always been so fit but at least I knew what the problem was and we could fix it.

It was stubborn weight to lose and I tried lots of different exercises and routines to no avail. I finally joined a gym instead of doing home workouts from the internet, and thus began my journey. I have an addictive personality and quickly got addicted to my new gym routine. Up at 5am every morning to go sweat it out. The weight started coming off, slowly and then stopped. I was missing the most important element... Nutrition. I spent countless hours online researching nutrition articles, facts, recipes, theories and approaches. I found bodybuilding.com and started to do more lifting. I had finally found that perfect balance between weight lifting and proper nutrition. The weight really started to come off and my body started to transform. From there, my true passion and destiny was revealed, so I left my day job and became an ACE certified Personal Trainer.

The rest is history...
